Owner and Esthetician
After years in the industry, I believed I could create a more elevated experience for my clients. Waxing especially had been seen as a sterile, nerve-wracking experience and I knew there was a better way. I envisioned a luxurious, but welcome escape where every detail would be considered, from soothing music, cleanliness and comfort to a custom formulated wax that clients would rave about.
I opened Smooth in 2011 in a tiny one-room studio and it quickly blossomed into more than I could have ever imagined. We have created a community of amazingly kind and talented team members and we have attracted the best clients anyone could ask for. We now have two locations and are going strong!
The best part of the past 10 years of business ownership has been the relationships we have cultivated. We build real, honest, trusting connections with people – both staff and clients. It is the fuel that keeps me going.

What are your top 3 tips for a first-time wax?
- Let your hair grow! While it may seem daunting, wait at least 2 weeks after shaving before getting a wax for the best results.
- Plan to add exfoliating into your skincare regimen to help reduce/preventing grown hairs.
- Focus on the end goal! Your first wax can be a nerve-wracking experience, but the result is totally worth it.

What do you love about working with clients?
I love that clients share their lives with me. It’s like a monthly check in with a friend. I primarily provide Brazilian waxes and that can be a very intimate appointment for most people! I’m always happy to distract clients with conversation and most times that distraction leads to a real bond which I love!

What led you to pursuing a career in skincare?
I believe good skin is a key component of overall beauty and good health. Skin is one of the first things others notice about you, and it is probably the first thing you notice about yourself when you look in the mirror every morning.
What are your top 3 tips for a first-time wax?
- Relax, you’re in good hands. We use amazing products and it’s only a few seconds of a sting.
- Consistently is key. You only need to get waxed once a month to provide a more comfortable experience you can get used to. You will have less hair grow back and it is finer and thinner. Don’t shave or trim in between so the benefits of waxing reverse and you have to start all over with course thick hair.
- Exfoliate. You want to make sure your pores don’t become clogged which can cause ingrown hairs, itching or hair that doesn’t stay on the same growth cycle. There are so many options to do so to make sure you are Smooth every time you leave.

- Trust me, because it will get better
What do you love about working with clients?
It is like having girlfriends over every few weeks for a chat.

What are your top 3 tips for a first-time wax?
- A little redness is normal after waxing so it is very important to follow aftercare instructions to optimize results and healing time.
- The first time might be a little uncomfortable, especially because first timers don’t know what to expect, but it gets easier and easier after each visit as the hair will grow back finer!
- It will be over before you know it! We specialize in Brazilian and body waxing; this is the place to trust for your hair removal needs.
What do you love about working with clients?
I love to be able to exceed their expectations and also build trusted and long-lasting relationships.

How long have you been an esthetician?
I have been an esthetician and hairstylist for over 20 years.
What do you love about working with clients?
I love the chit chat. I enjoy when I get a new client and find out who talked them into coming in for a wax: it is usually office/work talk or a best friend talked them into it, or they finally got the courage themselves. I enjoy getting to know them and making their visit a happy one. I feel it is an honor and a privilege that a client puts their trust in me and shares their day-to-day life and stories with me.
What are your top 3 tips for a first-time wax?
- Your good friends will tell you it does hurt
- It will be over quick
- Don’t forget to breath

It’s so uplifting to make other women feel like the best version of themselves and I love connecting with our clients and seeing them leave refreshed and confident in themselves.
What are your top 3 tips for a first-time wax?
- Don’t be scared! The estheticians know what they are doing.
- Breathe and relax.
- Don’t focus on the actual waxing and just “drift to your happy place” or engage in a conversation with your esthetician to keep your mind off of it.

What brought you to Smooth?
I was attracted to working for a woman-owned small business that was a comfortable space for clients without pushy sales.
What are your top 3 tips for a first-time wax?
- Give your hair time to grow out! I know this can be frustrating, but it's best to let all of your hair grow out for at least 3 weeks for a more comfortable waxing experience.
- Exfoliate! Whether it's with a loofah, body scrub or whatever your preference may be, exfoliating daily before waxing helps to remove dead skin cells and better expose the hair shaft for the wax to grab on to.
- The first words out of 99% of our first-time waxing clients are, "That wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!" Our service providers are the best of the best and have seen it all, so you can trust that you're in great hands when you come to see us.
What do you love about working with clients?
My favorite part of working with clients is getting to know each of them over time. As much as I try to make sure each client has a good visit with us, our clients do just as much to make it a great experience for us as well.

I quickly realized I love the beauty industry. I tried out esthetics school because I was always playing with skincare and makeup and soon found this is where I wanted to be.
What are your top 3 tips for a first-time wax?
- Take a Tylenol before your appointment.
- Talk your way through the wax; it makes your mind wander and not think solely on the pain.
- Remember the pain is temporary and the results are worth it!
What do you love about working with clients?
I love seeing regulars and meeting new clients. It is fun to keep up with each other’s lives and share what is going on. It is like a coffee date everyday with your friend minus the coffee.
